Puzzle Peace Counseling October Newsletter
Happy October! Hopefully by now, the kids are settled into school, and you're settled into a nice, predictable daily routine. If you're like us, life is full of daily surprises that keep things from getting too settled and predictable. With the rush of the holiday season sneaking up on us, self-care is a MUST. Maybe you've been considering getting back to counseling for a "tune-up"? Or perhaps you're ready to get help for your "special sibling" (aka: the child in your family who doesn't have autism, but needs support), or join a support group yourself, but just haven't had the time or extra money. Now we could spend the next few lines of text reminding you that self-care is never an "extra", but instead, we've got some exciting news to share: The Healthy U Now Foundation and the Davis Foundation have teamed up to provide scholarship grants to Puzzle Peace Counseling so that moms and sibs can attend our support groups at free and reduced rates. Simply contact us to sign up for a group and ask about scholarships. Teen Sib Group (in Ms. Kelly's Art Room) -every other Monday from 4-5:30pm Extra-Special Moms Group (in Janeen's office) - Tuesday evenings from 6:30-8pm OR -Wednesday mornings from 10-11:30am Here's what people are saying about Puzzle Peace Groups: "I have lots of friends who mean well when they listen or try to help with what we deal with as Autism Parents, but they haven't walked miles in my shoes. PPC Support Groups is where I can connect with people who really get it! No platitudes or confused expressions. No judgment. Just true acceptance, support, coping skills, and advice!" -North Florida Mom with two children on the spectrum. "Warm collaborative solutions to real life problems on a planet of your peers, where laughter and tears are the medicine for the soul." - Jacksonville Mom of a teen with ASD. "I worry about my daughter, living in the shadow of her brother's autism. Ms. Kelly's group is a place where she can be herself and feel like she belongs." -St. Johns County Mom. Additionally, if you are in need of a group that we don't currently provide, please tell us about it. We want to serve your family's needs.
